The Outdoor Industry Association, the leading trade organization for the outdoor sector, is looking for a driven, strategic, and highly organized Content Marketing Manager to develop and implement digital marketing strategies aimed at increasing awareness, affinity, engagement, and conversions for OIA membership, programs, and services.

Based in Boulder, Colorado, with an office in Washington, D.C., Outdoor Industry Association, a 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association, is the leading organization representing the outdoor industry. OIA connects and supports manufacturers, suppliers, sales reps, and retailers through initiatives focused on trade and recreation policy, sustainable business innovation, research, advocacy, and outdoor participation. Additionally, OIA established and sponsors the Outdoor Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to engaging American youth in active outdoor lifestyles and nature-based education.
ABOUT THE POSITION
This is a full-time, salaried position with comprehensive benefits, reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing. The role offers a flexible, remote work environment with a focus on developing content and executing digital marketing initiatives that foster awareness, affinity, engagement, and conversions among OIA members and partners. The Content Marketing Manager will oversee the planning, management, and execution of OIA’s digital marketing omnichannel campaigns. This includes implementing comprehensive content marketing strategies and coordinating tactics aligned with OIA’s long-term strategic plan across digital, social, and traditional channels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
- Collaborate with Sr. Director of Marketing to build and execute a comprehensive content strategy, including member and non-member communications.
- Develop and execute an integrated digital strategy that aligns content marketing efforts to drive customer engagement and sales.
- Manage the content lifecycle —planning, creating, editing, and publishing engaging content (e.g., blog posts, product descriptions, email campaigns) on our website and other digital channels using WordPress.
- Maintain the editorial/marketing calendar, ensuring consistent communication across platforms to support marketing objectives and maximize engagement.
- Manage content marketing programs and implement automated marketing campaigns using Salesforce and Pardot.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, communications standards, and SEO best practices.
- Utilize Salesforce and Pardot to manage, segment, and nurture customer leads generated through content, and to track content performance metrics.
- Schedule and produce high-quality content that attracts and retains focus.
- Track, measure, and report on content performance metrics.
- Evaluate and optimize content marketing tools, platforms, and processes for improved efficiency and results.
- Manage the event calendar, including execution timelines and associated marketing collateral.
Requirements
- Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive content strategies that align with organizational goals and drive engagement.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tools, including experience using WordPress, Salesforce, Pardot, and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience with e-commerce integrations, digital sales funnels, and lead nurturing strategies.
- Experience managing social media content and running marketing campaigns.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong time-management and ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Analytical mindset; proficient in marketing analytics, Google Analytics, and performance measurement.
- Creative, proactive, and goal-oriented problem solver with a collaborative team approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital content creation, content marketing, or related roles within a B2B environment, preferably in member engagement or e-commerce sectors.
- Prior outdoor, recreation, or related industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working within a membership organization, non-profit, or similar environment also a plus.
